Promotion of inclusive tourism amongst Marsabit women

Exploring marsabit county's vibrant cultures and supporting local communities

Our team members recently had an incredible opportunity to connect with the amazing women of Marsabit County. We were filled with joy as we immersed ourselves in their rich cultures and discovered their vital role in Kenya's thriving tourism sector.

During our time together, they opened our eyes to the beauty of their locally made artifacts. The craftsmanship and artistry showcased in these treasures were truly awe-inspiring. They warmly encouraged us to support their livelihoods by purchasing these unique pieces.

However, it wasn't just about embracing their creativity. The women also shared their concerns with us. They spoke passionately about the challenges they face when wildlife damages their properties. That's why they requested our team at Thach Center to deliver their plea to the government. They urged for the enactment of compensation policies that would help them rebuild and recover.

While appreciating the efforts made by the government to involve them in the tourism sector, they expressed the need for more opportunities. They believe that by expanding the scope of participation, their community and others like theirs can contribute even more to the industry's growth and success.
